During the 2008 elections campaign, David Krikorian slung mud at the incumbent Congresswoman Jean Schmidt (R-Ohio) by claiming that "Representative Jean Schmidt had taken $30,000 in blood money to deny the genocide of Christian Armenians by Muslim Turks.”

This was of course another Armenian smear campaign, which they use against any congressional or local candidate who refuse to take for granted their narrow-minded arguments, falsified genocide claims and fanatical anti-Turkish agenda.

Following these events, Turkish American Legal Defense Fund  requested on November 3, 2008 that the Attorney General of Ohio, Nancy H. Rogers, open a criminal investigation under Ohio and false statement laws in order to prosecute Armenian-American independent candidate David Krikorian for employing verbal thuggery against Representative Jean Schmidt. On October 1st, 2009, Ohio Elections Committee concluded that Mr. Krikorian lied about Rep. Jean Schmidt.

The case is closed for now, but Rep. Schmidt has the right to take it to a civil court.

TurkishPAC interposed in the lawsuit as a third party.
